Muito bacana, a história do encontro dos descendentes separados pelo tempo no Jornal Zero Hora de hoje:
Uma história dos Raskin

Deve ter sido lá por 1910, na Ucrânia, que dois irmãos se apaixonaram e se casaram com duas irmãs. David e Boruch Raskin se casaram com as irmãs Elner. Em 1914, Boruch e sua esposa, Silvie, juntamente com um terceiro irmão, Aizik, que era casado com Sheine Ravin, resolveram tentar a vida na América do Sul, já que a situação para os judeus havia se tornado quase insuportável em sua terra natal. Passados alguns anos, com as dificuldades de comunicação com a Rússia após a revolução, as cartas, que no início eram escassas, deixaram de chegar. Nunca mais souberam uns dos outros.

No Brasil, os descendentes de Boruch e Aizik seguiram próximos. Tanto que um neto de Aizik, Leão, casou-se com uma neta de Boruch, Dora. Aproximadamente 20 anos atrás, um dos bisnetos de Aizik, Salmo Raskin, médico geneticista que vive em Curitiba, começou a pesquisar as raízes da família. 

Com seus estudos de genealogia acoplados a análises de DNA, Salmo conseguiu chegar até parentes que moram na Rússia e que têm uma certa compatibilidade genética com ele. Aprofundando ainda mais as análises, observou que sua tia Dora tinha um grau ainda maior de compatibilidade com estes parentes. Os contatos foram se estreitando e ficando mais interessantes. Soubemos que, entre esses parentes, os irmãos Vadim e Annya também já haviam se envolvido com buscas genealógicas por suas raízes. Em certo momento, Vadim enviou uma foto para Salmo, perguntando se ele saberia identificar quem eram as pessoas do retrato.

Para surpresa geral, a foto foi imediatamente reconhecida, afinal, era a mesma imagem que estava na casa de nossa tia Dora. E claro que ela sabia quem eram: ninguém menos que seus avós, Boruch e Silvie, com seus filhos. No colo de Boruch, está, ainda bebê, a mão de Dora, Geni. Uma cópia desta fotografia fora deixada, provavelmente, como recordação, na Rússia. Quem sabe, um presente de Boruch para seu irmão David. 

Vadim, Annya e Viktor, um terceiro irmão que ainda mora na Rússia, são netos de David Raskin. No domingo passado, a família viveu um momento histórico, quase milagroso. 

Após mais de cem anos,

sem que uns soubessem da existência dos outros, encontraram-se em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos, Viviane, filha de Dora e Leão Raskin, com Annya e Kira, respectivamente neta e bisneta de David Raskin. Acima, a foto referida”.

A Raskin's story

It must have been there in 1910, in Ukraine, that two brothers fell in love and married two sisters. David and Boruch Raskin married the Elner sisters. In 1914 Boruch and his wife Silvie, along with a third brother, Aizik, who was married to Sheine Ravin, decided to try life in South America, as the situation for the Jews had become almost unbearable in their homeland.  After a few years, with the difficulties of communication with Russia after the revolution, the letters, which were scarce at first, ceased to arrive. They never knew each other again.

In Brazil, the descendants of Boruch and Aizik followed closely. So much so that Aizik's grandson Leão married Boruch's granddaughter Dora. About 20 years ago, one of Aizik's great-grandchildren, Salmo Raskin, a geneticist living in Curitiba, began researching the family's roots.

With his genealogy studies coupled with DNA analysis, Salmo was able to reach relatives living in Russia who have some genetic compatibility with him. Deepening the analysis further, he noted that his aunt Dora had an even greater degree of compatibility with these relatives. The contacts were narrowing and getting more interesting. We learned that among these relatives, brothers Vadim and Annya had also been involved in genealogical searches for their roots. At one point Vadim sent a picture to Psalm asking if he could identify who the people in the portrait were.

To everyone's surprise, the photo was immediately recognized, after all, it was the same image that was in our aunt Dora's house. Of course she knew who they were: none other than her grandparents, Boruch and Silvie, with their children. On Boruch's lap is, as a baby, Dora's hand, Geni. A copy of this photograph was probably left as a souvenir in Russia. Who knows, a gift from Boruch to his brother David.

Vadim, Annya and Viktor, a third brother still living in Russia, are grandchildren of David Raskin. Last Sunday, the family experienced an almost miraculous historical moment.

After over a hundred years,

unbeknownst to each other, they met in Los Angeles, USA, Viviane, daughter of Dora and Leão Raskin, with Annya and Kira, respectively David Raskin's granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Above, the photo mentioned.
