Os quatro filhos de Maurício - Mauricio's four sons

 

Quando eu era uma jovem adulta, em função do meu trabalho, viajava para Santa Maria, interior do Rio Grande do Sul. Lá ainda moravam alguns parentes, entre eles, nossa Tia Beille, que além de ser tia do meu pai, filha de Rice Raskin, irmã de meu bisavô Aizek, foi casada com um tio dele, Miguel Lifchitz (irmão de minha avó Vitória Raskin, nascida Lifchitz). Ela tinha um irmão, Aje Leib,  que tinha um tipo de deficiência intelectual. Me chamava muita atenção que ele ficava andando pela casa, repetindo um mantra: "Moisheber formou  quatro filhos doutores, dois médicos, dois dentistas/ Moisheber formou  quatro filhos doutores, dois médicos, dois dentistas". Esclareço que Moisheber era meu avô paterno, Maurício Raskin. 

Há que se entender, que, naquela época, para uma família de imigrantes judeus que fugiu da perseguição na Europa, e eram muito pobres, o fato de um pai conseguir "formar" quatro filhos em profissões tão nobres era um verdadeiro feito. E os quatro filhos de Maurício: Aizik, Obe, Leão e David eram o orgulho da família.

Como os que nos trouxe até aqui foi o forte laço que uniu estes quatro irmãos, seus filhos e os filhos de seus filhos, nada mais justo que se dedique um espaço para eles nesta nossa página. Apresento então, com muito orgulho e gratidão, os filhos de Mauricio e Vitória Raskin:

When I was a young adult, due to my work, I traveled to Santa Maria, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. There were still some relatives, among them, our Aunt Beille, who besides being the aunt of my father, daughter of Rice Raskin, sister of my great-grandfather Aizek, was married to his uncle Miguel Lifchitz (brother of my grandmother Victoria Raskin, born Lifchitz). She had a brother, Aje Leib, who had a kind of intellectual disability. It struck me very much that he kept walking around the house, repeating a mantra: "Moisheber graduated four doctor sons, two doctors, two dentists / Moisheber graduated four doctor sons, two doctors, two dentists." I clarify that Moisheber was my paternal grandfather, Mauricio Raskin.

 It must be understood that at that time for a family of Jewish immigrants who fled persecution in Europe and were very poor, the fact that a father could "raise" four children in such noble occupations was a real achievement. And the four sons of Mauricio: Aizik, Obe, Leão and David were the pride of the family.

 Like the ones that brought us here, it was the strong bond that united these four brothers, their children, and the children of their children, and it is only fair to give them a space on this page. I present, with great pride and gratitude, the sons of Mauricio and Vitória Raskin:

 Aizik Raskin (1924-2010) , também conhecido como Assis, nasceu no dia 20 de março de 1924, em Getulio Vargas, no Rio Grande do Sul. Filho de Maurício Raskin e Victória Lischits, tinha três irmãos: Obe, Leão e David. Casado com Tamara Morgenstern Raskin, tinha três filhos: Gerson, casado com Sara, Rejane, casada com Salomão  e Salmo, casado com Angelita. Tinha seis netos: Rafaela, Marcelo, Juliana, Luiz Felipe, Rodrigo e Carolina. Não viveu para conhecer a neta Clara e a bisneta Marina.

Chegou em Curitiba em 4 de dezembro de 1947, depois de ter passado a infância e parte da juventude no Rio Grande do Sul,  movido pelo sonho de se tornar médico, pois lá estava a primeira universidade de medicina do Brasil.

Recém formado em Medicina, casou em 19 de dezembro de 1953 com Tamara e escolheu o bairro Bacacheri, na época o segundo mais populoso da cidade, para morar. Lá fixou residencia e ao lado, o consultório. Durante mais de meio século neste mesmo local, atendeu com extrema dedicação, quatro gerações de famílias da comunidade do bairro do Bacacheri e redondezas, inclusive de municípios vizinhos.

Alguns meses após instalar-se no Bacacheri, no inicio de 1954, foi aprovado em concurso público para ingressar como Primeiro Tenente Médico da Polícia Militar do Estado do Paraná. Durante os 35 anos que esteve na ativa percorreu todos os níveis hierárquicos da carreira militar. Foi chefe da Maternidade antes de ocupar durante uma década o cargo de Diretor Geral do Hospital da Polícia. Foi Diretor Geral de Saúde junto ao Estado Maior, no Quartel da Polícia Militar até ir para a reserva no mais alto nível, o de Coronel Médico. 

Recebeu, em 1998,  o título de “Cidadão Honorário de Curitiba” pelo meio século dedicado ao exercício da Medicina. A mesma retidão de conduta da vida profissional foi observada em sua relação com a família. Ao dedicar parte de sua vida em prol da população carente, prestando, incontáveis vezes, serviços gratuitamente, não deixou de oferecer todo o conforto material e bagagem cultural que sua mulher e os três filhos poderiam almejar. O desafio de ser, ao mesmo tempo benevolente e empreendedor, foi talvez o seu maior mérito. Temos a convicção de que seus valores religiosos foram os fundamentos desta trajetória exemplar e com certeza será a luz que sempre há de iluminar os caminhos de quem teve o privilégio de conhecê-lo.

Aizik Raskin (1924-2010), also known as Assis, was born on March 20, 1924 in Getulio Vargas, Rio Grande do Sul. Son of Mauricio Raskin and Victoria Lifchits, he had three brothers: Obe, Leão and David. Married to Tamara Morgenstern Raskin, had three children: Gerson, married to Sara, Rejane, married to Solomon and Salmo, married to Angelita. He had six grandchildren: Rafaela, Marcelo, Juliana, Luiz Felipe, Rodrigo and Carolina. Did not live to know da granddauther Clara an Great grand daughter Marina.

Arrived in Curitiba on December 4, 1947, after having spent his childhood and part of youth in Rio Grande do Sul, moved by the dream of becoming a doctor, because there was the first medical university in Brazil.

Recently graduated in medicine, he married Tamara on December 19, 1953 and chose the Bacacheri district, at the time the second most populous in the city, to live. There fixed residence and next, the office. For over half a century in this same place, it has served with extreme dedication, four generations of families from the Bacacheri neighborhood community and surrounding areas, including neighboring municipalities.

A few months after settling in Bacacheri, in early 1954, he was approved in a public competition to enter as First Medical Lieutenant of the Military Police of the State of Paraná. During the 35 years that she was active she went through all the hierarchical levels of the military career. He was head of the maternity ward before serving for a decade as Director General of the Police Hospital. He was Director General of Health at the Military Staff at the Military Police Barracks until he went to the reserve at the highest level, Coronel Medic.

In 1998, he received the title of “Honorary Citizen of Curitiba” for half a century dedicated to the practice of medicine. The same rightness of conduct of professional life was observed in its relationship with the family. By dedicating part of her life to the needy population, providing countless services for free, she nevertheless offered all the material comfort and cultural background that her wife and three children could aspire to. The challenge of being both benevolent and enterprising was perhaps his greatest merit. We are convinced that his religious values ​​were the foundations of this exemplary trajectory and it will surely be the light that will always illuminate the ways of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Obe Raskin (1926-2013), filho de Maurício e Vitória Lifchiz , foi o segundo de quatro irmãos, Aizik (falecido), Leão e David.  Nasceu em 18 de maio de 1926  no município de Quatro Irmãos,  no Rio Grande do Sul.  Foi casado, por 60 anos e 10 dias, com Ena Raskin, com quem teve quatro filhos: Sergio, Circe, Gilberto e Vitória, que lhe deram nove netos: Daniela, Eduardo, Fernando, Renata, Roberto, Maurício, Henrique, Andréa e Joana. Avô afetuoso, sempre tinha um apelido carinhoso para os netos e se dedicava a contar para eles as mesmas histórias que contava para os filhos. Não viveu para conhecer as bisnetas Laura e Luiza, que lhe teriam dado muita alegria.  Generoso com todos aqueles que o cercavam, tinha também uma marca registrada: um humor afetivo e sincero. Brincava com todos os assuntos, conferindo a eles sempre uma leveza que nunca conseguiremos esquecer. Tinha um gosto especial por fazer churrasco para a família aos domingos, e suas invencionices culinárias entraram para nossa história.

Exerceu a odontologia por mais de 60 anos com competência, humildade e amor. Fez parte da história de muitas famílias e do bairro Floresta em Porto Alegre, onde manteve seu consultório desde o início até o final de sua vida profissional.  Era um homem simples, de poucas palavras e muitas atitudes.  Foi filho,  irmão, genro, esposo, pai, sogro, avô, tio e cunhado afetuoso e  presente. Além da grande lacuna, deixou muitas ternas lembranças em todos aqueles que tiveram o prazer de conviver com ele.

Obe Raskin (1926-2013), son of Mauricio and Victoria Lifchiz, was the second of four brothers, Aizik (deceased), Leo and David. He was born on May 18, 1926 in the city of Quatro Irmãos, Rio Grande do Sul. He was married for 60 years and 10 days with Ena Raskin, with whom he had four children: Sergio, Circe, Gilberto and Vitória, who gave him nine grandchildren: Daniela, Eduardo, Fernando, Renata, Roberto, Mauricio, Henrique, Andrea and Joana. Affectionate grandfather, he always had an affectionate nickname for his grandchildren and dedicated himself to telling them the same stories he told his children. He did not live to meet her great-granddaughters Laura and Luiza, who would have given him much joy. Generous with all those around him, he also had a trademark: an affectionate and sincere humor. He played with all subjects, always giving them a lightness that we will never be able to forget. He had a special taste for family barbecue on Sundays, and his culinary inventions came into our story.

He practiced dentistry for over 60 years with competence, humility and love. He was part of the history of many families and the Floresta neighborhood in Porto Alegre, where he kept his office from the beginning to the end of his professional life. He was a simple man of few words and many attitudes. He was an  affectionate and present  son, brother, son-in-law, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law. Beyond the great gap, he left many tender memories in all those who had the pleasure of living with him.

Leão Raskin, também conhecido como Luiz, é o terceiro filho de Maurício Raskin e Vitória Lifchitz. Nasceu em 16/05/1928 no município de Quatro Irmãos, interior do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, e berço da colonização judaica no Estado. É o terceiro de quatro irmãos: Aizik( falecido), Obe( falecido) e David.

Casado com Dora Pakter Raskin há 63 anos com quem tem os filhos Marcos, Rosane e Viviane; os netos Felipe, Joice (falecida), Ana e Elana; e o bisneto Bernardo. 

Graduou-se em odontologia em dezembro de 1952, pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas, juntamente com seu irmão Obe. 

Exerceu a atividade profissional com muita competência, dedicação e amor à profissão, vindo a fazer parte vida de muitas famílias do bairro São Geraldo e arredores. 

Foi sempre muito unido a seus irmãos e dedicado à toda a família. 

Marido companheiro,  pai amoroso e muito dedicado, é motivo de orgulho para sua esposa e filhos. S empre foi exemplo de honestidade, bondade e retidão de caráter. Reside ainda em Porto Alegre, ao lado de sua esposa Dora.

Leão Raskin, also known as Luiz, is the third son of Mauricio Raskin and Victoria Lifchitz. Born on May 16, 1928 in the city of Quatro Irmãos, in the interior of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and cradle of Jewish colonization in the state. It is the third of four brothers: Aizik (deceased), Obe (deceased) and David.

Married to Dora Pakter Raskin for 63 years with whom she has children Marcos, Rosane and Viviane; grandchildren Philip, Joice (deceased), Ana, Elana and great-grandson Bernardo.

He graduated in dentistry in December 1952 from the Federal University of Pelotas, along with his brother Obe.

He practiced professionally with great competence, dedication and love for the profession, becoming part of life of many families on the neighborhood of São Geraldo and surroundings.

He was always very close to his brothers and dedicated to the whole family.

Companion husband, loving and very devoted father, is a source of pride for his wife and children. His enterprise was an example of honesty, kindness, and righteousness of character. He still lives in Porto Alegre, next to his wife Dora.

David Raskin,   médico e escritor, é o caçula dos quatro filhos de Maurício e Vitória Raskin, judeus imigrantes vindos da Rússia. Nasceu em 20 de novembro de 1929 na cidade de Erechim, RS. Irmão de Aizik e Obe (falecidos) e Leão.

Formou-se em Medicina na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul em 1954 e especializou-se na época em oftalmootorrinolaringologia. Atualmente exerce a oftalmologia, sendo referência em adaptação de lentes de contato. Clinicou, inicialmente, em Videira e Criciúma (SC), e há mais de 60 anos exerce a profissão no centro de Porto Alegre (RS).

Casado com Jacira Henkin Raskin desde 1962, tem dois filhos: Vitor e Roseli (que também é oftalmologista, e trabalha com o pai há 25 anos) e os netos Mariana e Pedro Otávio

Aos setenta anos de idade, paralelamente ao trabalho médico, David iniciou uma pesquisa aprofundada sobre o histórico do monoteísmo e, uma década após, aos oitenta, lançou o livro “Três Deuses e uma Trindade”. Foi motivado por seu gosto pelos estudos e por questionamentos que vinham de sua infância em Santa Maria, onde morou e estudou em colégio marista desde os nove anos de idade. Seu objetivo, com o livro, era contribuir, através da compreensão das relações existentes entre as religiões, com o diálogo e a tolerância entre os povos.

Certamente, um traço genético que herdou de seu bisavô, Rabbi Naftali Hertz Raskin. Com seu humanismo, amor, competência e humildade, faz parte da história de inúmeras famílias gaúchas, às quais vem cuidando, há mais de sessenta anos, por várias gerações.

David é médico jubilado no Conselho Regional de Medicina e Associação Médica do Rio Grande do Sul. Em pleno exercício profissional, aos noventa anos de idade, neste ano de 2019, Dr. Raskin -  como é conhecido na Oftalmologia, foi o primeiro médico a receber a Comenda da Sociedade de Oftalmologia do Rio Grande do Sul.

Podemos descrevê-lo como um homem com uma mente brilhante e uma alma iluminada, uma unanimidade na família e nos círculos sociais.

David Raskin,  doctor and writer, he is the youngest of four children of Mauricio and Victoria Raskin, immigrant Jews from Russia. Born on November 20, 1929 in the city of Erechim, RS. Brother of Aizik and Obe (deceased) and Leão. He graduated in Medicine at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1954 and specialized at the time in ophthalmoorhinolaryngology. Currently has ophthalmology, being a reference in contact lens fitting. Initially, he started his studies in Videira and Criciúma (SC), and has been practicing for over 60 years in the center of Porto Alegre (RS). Married to Jacira Henkin Raskin since 1962, has two children: Vitor and Roseli (who is also an ophthalmologist, working with his father for 25 years) and grandchildren Mariana and Pedro Otávio.

At the age of seventy, in parallel with medical work, David began an in-depth research into the history of monotheism and, a decade later, at eighty, released the book "Three Gods and a Trinity." He was motivated by his love of studies and the questions that came from his childhood in Santa Maria, where he lived and studied in a Marist college since he was nine years old. Its purpose, with the book, was to contribute, by understanding the relationships between religions, to dialogue and tolerance among peoples. Certainly a genetic trait he inherited from his great-grandfather, Rabbi Naftali Hertz Raskin. With their humanism, love, competence and humility, it is part of the history of countless gaucho families, which they have been caring for over sixty years for generations.

 David is a jubilant physician at the Regional Council of Medicine and Medical Association of Rio Grande do Sul. In full professional practice, at the age of ninety in this year 2019, Dr. Raskin - as he is known in Ophthalmology, was the first doctor to receive the Commendation of the Ophthalmology Society of Rio Grande do Sul.

We can describe him as a man with a brilliant mind and an enlightened soul, unanimous in family and social circles.
