Finalmente, as 12 tribos reunidas! Finally the 12 tribes gathered!

We have published below, a letter received from our recently rescued cousin, Anna Raskin Ryaboy, from Irvine, California. Her words brought us a great deal of joy and excitement, as it made possible for us to have some news of all the 12 sons of Naftali, our ancestor. The message came illustraded with the image above, ant the following explanatios:

Dear Salmo, Vivian, and Vadim,

We are back from Texas, and instead of answering old emails (which I will return to later), I tell you our news.

Vadim and I made combined efforts at research our family archives half of the globe apart and talked in length about our childhood and youth memories. We found Raskin Family Tree, filled out in Russian, made by my oldest son Oleg with our Mother Lidiya Raskina about 10 years ago in California (see attached). I did not talk to Oleg yet about particulars.

So, here is (Gerz) Herz Raskin on the top of the pyramid. No wife’s name, no dates, no geographical places.

Second row is filled out for Herz’s kids:
1. Nekhama Raskina;
2. Eta Raskina & Leib Zlatin;
3. David Raskin & Hannah Elner:
4. Aizik Raskin;
5. Boruch Raskin & Tsiv’ya Elner;
6. Leib Raskin (no wife’s name);
7. Genah Raskin (no wife’s name);
8. Perl Raskina & (no husband’s first name) Haikin;
9. (No lady’s name) & (no husband’s first name) Haikin;
10. (No lady’s first name) Raskina & (No husband’s first name) Kruglikov.

Third row is filled out for Herz’s grandkids, but no information about kids of Nekhama, Eta,  Aizik, and Boruch. (My guess: Have all of them emigrated to Brazil in 1910-1913? Maybe even together?)

3. David Raskin & Hannah Elner: 2 sons, 2 daughters, and after that 4th, 5th, and 6th rows for next generations – we know all about that.

6. Leib Raskin (no wife’s name): 1 son Leonid Raskin & Vera Zlatina; Leonid had 1 daughter (no name).

7. Genah Raskin (no wife’s name): 1 son Izrael Raskin & Lyalya (no last name); Izrael had one daughter and 1 son, no more info.

8. Perl Raskina & (no husband’s first name) Haikin had one son Ilya Haikin, who married Raisa Sholom. They had one daughter Elena Haikina, who married (no husband’s name), and had 1 son.

9. (No lady’s first name) Raskina & (no husband’s first name) Haikin had three sons. One of them was Semen Haikin, who married Raisa (no last name) and had a son Leonid Haikin. We do not know names of two other sons.

10. (No lady’s first name) Raskina & (No husband’s first name) Kruglikov had one son Abram Kruglikov, who married Lidiya (no last name), and had two daughters (no names).

Here is the punch line: obviously, Genah Raskin, Perl Raskina, and two more Raskin sisters did not leave the territory of Russian Empire, because I personally had met their children and grandchildren Izrael Raskin, Raisa Sholom-Haikina (her husband Ilya Haikin died approximately in 1960-s) and Elena Haikina, Semen Haikin and Leonid Haikin in Moscow, Russia (then USSR), and Abram Kruglikov in Riga, Latvia (then USSR).

I think, it is a miracle what is going on in two last weeks. As if some wizard’s portal was cracked open, and memories, feelings, pictures, documents of the whole century erupted.

Best wishes to all,
Anya
